The International Forum “Black Sea 2030: Partnership for a Sustainable Future” will take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, gathering policymakers, researchers, business representatives, and regional stakeholders to discuss the future of sustainable blue growth in the Black Sea region.
Organised by Burgas Municipality, in partnership with the Association “ProspectiM” and with the support of academia, maritime business, and the non-governmental sector, the event aims to foster dialogue and cooperation for a greener, more innovative, and resilient Black Sea.
The forum will be opened by Dimitar Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas Municipality, and will feature a video address from Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation.
A keynote intervention will also be delivered by Charlina Vicheva, Director-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE), European Commission.
Forum Highlights
Throughout the day, participants will explore key themes through a series of panel discussions, including:
Sustainable development of Black Sea municipalities – from policy to real action
Maritime business as a partner for a sustainable future
Marine environment protection and climate change adaptation
Innovation and digitalisation in support of sustainable development
A closing session, led by Ivelina Vasileva, Member of the European Commission’s Mission for Ocean, Seas and Inland Waters, will summarise the forum’s discussions and spotlight future cooperation opportunities.
An Expo Zone will also be organised, offering space for participants to present projects, technologies, and innovative solutions supporting a sustainable blue economy.
