The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, an EU initiative under the Horizon Europe Programme, has just launched its third joint transnational call: “‘Digitalisation and Innovation for Resilient Marine Ecosystems Businesses, and Communities to Strengthen the EU Blue Economy’s Competitiveness”.
This third co-funded call supports transnational R&I projects of 36 months duration, which can focus on one of these five priority areas:
Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTOs) at sub-basin scale
Transitioning blue economy sectors and developing marine multi-use infrastructures
Climate-smart planning and management of sea uses at regional level
Blue bioresources: sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and new bio-based products
Resilient coastal communities and businesses
Proposals should cover at least two EU sea basins (Atlantic, Baltic, Black, Mediterranean, or North Sea) and contribute to the transformation towards a resilient and climate-neutral blue economy. Also, proposals may target regional seas such as the Adriatic, Aegean, Arctic, Barents, or Celtic Sea, as long as your project involves a minimum of two different EU sea basins. To search for potential partners, the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership recommends using their Partner Search Tool.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to involve stakeholders, such as SMEs, industry, authorities, public administrations, associations, and civil society organisations.
Key dates are:
Deadline for pre-proposals: 17 November 2025 (15:00 CET)
Deadline for full proposals: 17 June 2026
