Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership launches Third Joint Transnational Call

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has opened its Third Joint Transnational Call, supporting research and innovation projects that strengthen the resilience, digitalisation and sustainability of Europe’s blue economy across all sea basins, including the Black Sea.

Why This Matters

A sustainable blue economy is essential for Europe’s climate neutrality, food security, coastal resilience and long‑term economic competitiveness. From marine renewable energy and low‑impact fisheries to circular blue biotechnologies and digital ocean solutions, the transition requires coordinated R&I efforts across countries and sectors.

This call accelerates that transition by funding collaborative projects that deliver tangible impact for coastal communities, marine ecosystems and blue‑economy industries.

Topics:

• Planning and managing sea‑uses at basin and regional scale

• Development of offshore marine multi‑use infrastructures

• Circularity and solutions for zero‑waste blue economy

• Innovative, low‑impact and climate‑resilient blue food systems

• Digital twins of the ocean and advanced observation technologies

Who Should Apply?

Transnational consortia bringing together research organisations, SMEs, industry partners, public authorities, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders are invited to apply.
