The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has announced its upcoming Regional Portfolio Calls for Interest, aiming to connect ongoing projects and strengthen cooperation at sea-basin level from early 2027 to early 2029. Five Regional Portfolios will be established across the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Baltic Sea, North Sea and Black Sea, each focusing on shared priorities and knowledge sharing. The call launches provisionally for Wave 1 on 29 July 2026 at 15:00 CEST and for Wave 2 at 9 September 2026 at 15:00 CEST
Why this matters
The Regional Portfolios will help projects collaborate more effectively, share data and good practices, and build stronger thematic communities across Europe’s sea basins. For the Black Sea, the portfolio will focus on addressing knowledge gaps, improving information and data exchange and strengthening cooperation within the context of climate change, supporting more coordinated actions on a regional level.
Who should apply?
Projects funded at regional, national or EU level that fall within the thematic scope of the selected portfolio and will remain active for at least six months between 2027 and 2029. Participation is self-funded and requires commitment to portfolio activities. Eligible projects may come from research institutions, public authorities, NGOs, SMEs or other relevant stakeholders.
