Author: Black Sea Assistance Mechanism

Among its main goals, the Common Maritime Agenda aims at fostering sustainable investments and building the capacity of blue economy businesses across the Black Sea in accessing funding. In this context, the recently launched Black Sea Accelerator for a Sustainable Blue Economy offers a unique opportunity for scaling up regional business capacity.

Jointly promoted by BRIDGE-BS and DOORS, the two implementing projects of the Black Sea Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), the Black Sea Accelerator offers free support services to blue economy innovators, both individuals and organisations. The aim of the Accelerator is to scale up regional innovative and sustainable business ideas and practices in the field of the blue economy, while strengthening the ability of start-ups and SMEs across the Black Sea to access valuable fundings and investments.

Are you a Black Sea-based organisation or individual? Do you have an innovative business or a potentially scalable solution in the field of sustainable blue economy? This is your invitation to join a transformative journey. Are you a non-regional applicant? The accelerator extends beyond geographical boundaries, to help entities willing to extend solutions to the Black Sea region.

With mentoring at its heart, the programme supports the gathering of insights from customers to understand market needs, the development of essential skills for businesses and workers, weaving a network of alliances that could define future potential partnerships, as well as assistance in testing the viability of innovative ideas in the regional market.

Are you an applicant with a promising venture idea? The accelerator empowers entrepreneurs to make informed decisions and maximize their chances of success! The program also delivers support either directly through the accelerator, or via collaborative efforts with other initiatives, ensuring a comprehensive and well-rounded mentoring experience.

Innovative solutions and ideas are welcome across a wide range of blue economy activities, from monitoring and observation to green and innovative port activities, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, innovative tourism solutions, blue biotechnologies, renewable marine energy and nature-based solutions at large. It's a chance to be part of exciting fields where the ocean holds incredible possibilities.
