Join the EU Sea Basins Assistance Mechanism (AM) at European Maritime Dat 2025, for the workshop “Maximising support for blue skills and ocean literacy”. This session will explore how the Assistance Mechanism can play a stronger role in supporting skills development and ocean literacy at the local level, across all Sea Basin Strategies.
The workshop will highlight the growing interest from various Sea Basin Strategy Presidencies and Coordinators to foster cooperation on this topic—not only at the policy level but also through concrete, technical actions.
Participants will get a snapshot of current efforts and good practices, including:
The work of EU4Ocean in promoting education and ocean literacy;
Local Irish initiatives connecting blue skills with community innovation;
Updates from the ongoing DG MARE and CINEA study on blue skills.
An interactive Q&A session will invite audience input to help refine future activities of the EU Sea Basins AM, including shaping the agenda for the upcoming EU Macro-regions and Sea Basins Day in September 2025 in Brussels.
