Description

EMSEA is embarking on a journey beyond the EU borders to one of its partner countries, Georgia. The conference will be hosted in the coastal city of Batumi in the southeast. The conference is scheduled to be held from 16th October 2023 to 18th October 2023

During this event, EMSEA members, organizations, and key individuals who have played a pivotal role in marine education over the past decade will come together to share their expertise. The focal point in Batumi will be the establishment of the Black Sea Literacy Network, operating within the framework of the BRIDGE-BS project (bridgeblacksea.org). The primary objective is to unite marine scientists, educators, blue economy companies, ocean professionals, and anyone passionate and curious about education related to the Black Sea.

The conference aims to highlight successful education and training practices that enhance knowledge about the marine environment, the blue economy, and maritime careers. Furthermore, it provides a valuable opportunity for networking, fostering a regional dialogue on Ocean Literacy within the Black Sea region and with the broader EMSEA community.

Would you like to showcase your initiatives in the Black Sea? You have until the 25th of August to submit an abstract for oral presentations (15 minutes), poster presentations, and workshops related to the following engaging topics:

  • Ocean literacy in the Black Sea
  • Blue economy and education
  • Water sports and ocean literacy
  • Ocean conservation
