ProBleu funding scheme for primary and secondary schools

The ProBleu funding program is designed to help primary and secondary schools engage children, youth, and their broader communities in promoting blue sustainability and protecting marine and freshwater ecosystems. Schools are encouraged to submit projects that:

  • Develop initiatives supporting the goals of the Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030,
  • Expand and reinforce the Network of European Blue Schools (NEBS) and contribute to the efforts of the EU4Ocean Coalition,
  • Involve students, educators, and the school community in advancing ocean and water literacy and sustainability efforts.

The ProBleu funding call contributes to the Network of European Blue Schools (NEBS) and the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030".

The Mission Ocean & Water seeks to address the damage caused to oceans and inland waters by human activities such as pollution, climate change, and resource exploitation. Its focus is on restoring ecosystems, reducing pollution, and enhancing the blue economy, relying heavily on fostering water literacy and environmental responsibility.

The Network of European Blue Schools (NEBS) plays a key role by encouraging schools to take part in "Find the blue" projects, with successful participation earning the European Blue School label.
