From 5-7 November 2024, Batumi, located in the Ajara Autonomous Republic of Georgia, will host a significant event focused on the preservation and restoration of marine ecosystems in the Danube Delta and the Black Sea. Organized by the CPMR within the PREP4BLUE project and in partnership with the CNR, this pilot stakeholder assembly will emphasize the crucial role that research and innovation play in protecting marine biodiversity.
The event, part of the Mission Ocean initiative, is organized in collaboration with the Danube and Black Sea Lighthouse and the EcoDaLLi project. Through an interactive world café format, participants will collaborate to create a specific roadmap that outlines priorities for research and innovation aimed at preserving the Black Sea and its connection to the Danube. This roadmap will feed into the Danube Innovation Strategic Action Plan, a key deliverable of the EcoDaLLi project.
Hosted by the Batumi State Maritime Academy, this gathering will bring together key actors from the Black Sea and Danube regions, facilitating stronger connections between Black Sea stakeholders and the EU Mission Danube & Black Sea Lighthouse.
